Book Review-Handbook To Practical Disaster
Handbook to Practical Disaster Preparedness for the Family
Author: Arthur T. Bradley, PH.D. Published 2011
At just over 400 pages and 19 chapters, there is a wealth of information that can help when times are bad. There is a lot of information that can help you and be fun when times are good. Chapters cover the basics of Food, Water and Shelter to keep you alive and make things more comfortable. Other chapters cover First Aid, communications and special needs as well.
The 8″ x 10″ format includes easy-to-copy worksheets to help organize your family’s preparedness plans. Additional information is presented for the elderly, those with children, people with disabilities, pregnant women, and pet owners. Every topic is well researched with over 280 references cited.
Facts appear to be accurate and Mr. Bradley has done his research to cover the questions you would ask as you read along. I really liked the chapter on creating a Disaster Prearedness network. Lot’s of good tips there to help you put it together. Reading was easy, it is well written and easy follow along. My copy is a softcover edition and I am not sure if it’s available in hardcover. No mind though, this is one I DO have on my bookshelf. If you are interested we have more information on this and other books in our Survival Bookshelf.
